Despite facing tough competition in both the Hindi and South Indian film markets, ‘OMG 2’ is demonstrating resilience. Let’s delve into the early estimates for the film’s Day 8 box office collection.
‘Oh My God 2’ generated significant anticipation throughout 2023. This sequel arrived more than a decade after its predecessor, which featured Paresh Rawal in the lead role and was released back in 2012.
Upon completing its first week in theaters on August 17, the film experienced a slight decline in earnings, garnering Rs 5.58 crore in India. As per early estimates for Day 8, ‘OMG 2’ managed to secure Rs 5.60 crore at the box office. This brings the total collection to an impressive Rs 90.65 crore. In the Hindi belt, where the film predominantly operates, the overall occupancy rate settled at 24.53%. It’s worth noting that the confirmed figures are still pending an official announcement.
Directed by Amit Rai, the movie stars Akshay Kumar portraying the role of Lord Shiva. Alongside him, the cast includes Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and Arun Govil, renowned for his portrayal of Lord Ram in the television series “Ramayan.” This satirical comedy-drama serves as a sequel to the 2012 hit film ‘OMG- Oh My God!’
The film’s production is a collaborative effort involving Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl. Dr. Chandraprakash Diwedi assumes the role of the movie’s creative producer, while Amalendu Chaudhary is responsible for the cinematography.
